Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended in parts of Kodungaiyur on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for maintenance work.

Blood donation

The Tamil Nadu branch of Indian Red Cross Society held a blood donation camp at the local head office of State Bank of India in Greams Road on Sunday. Meenakshi Sundaram, assistant general manager, organised the camp.

Meet on business process outsourcing

Rotary governor takes over

Rotarian J.B. Kamdar, who has been involved with Rotary Clubs for over 15 years, took over as Rotary district governor of RI District 3230. Kamdar is the managing director of Nadi group of companies.

Bhajan competition

The bhajan competition for schools (maximum of 12 students including instruments) will be held this month. The preliminary round will be held on July 15 and the semi-finals and finals will be conducted on July 22. The venue for all programmes is Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan in Mylapore. Academy of Excellence launched

Dental camp

About 200 persons were screened at a free dental camp held by Baskar Dental Foundation of T. Nagar at Illalur village in Tiruporur last week. M. Shanmugam, president of Illalur Village Welfare Society organised the camp. Beneficiaries received tooth brush, tooth powder and diet instruction.

Placement training for graduates

The Academy for Pharmaceuticals Selling Expertise will conduct a placement training programme for unemployed graduates aged below 26 with M.Sc., B. Sc., B.Pharm., MBA and BBA degrees. Sri Sankari Ammal Charitable Trust of Swamimalai will sponsor the programme.
