HYDERABAD: MCH has proposed to develop four municipal markets into modern shopping complexes and also five multi-level parking complexes under Public Private Partnership mode (PPP), according to Commissioner Sanjay Jaju on Tuesday. The Commissioner pointed out that the 24 markets under his jurisdiction had become dilapidated and hence, in the first phase four new markets will be built at Begum Bazaar (3,311 sq. mts), Mallepally Market (755 sq. mts), Ameerpet Market (1,119 sq. mts) and Punjagutta Market (670 sq. mts). Mr. Jaju made it clear that the interests of existing tenants would be protected and an undertaking to this effect was taken from them so that they could vacate and handover the premises to facilitate the construction. Once complete, all existing tenants would be provided required space on priority.
Parking
The five parking complexes with shops in the ground floor are proposed to develop under the Build, Operate and Transfer System (BOT). A minimum of 500 cars and 200 two- wheelers would be accommodated in each of these complexes. Ramps, escalators and clean toilets are to be attractive features of these complexes along with a conference hall on the top floor, according to Additional Commissioner for Estates, Ravi Babu. The five cleared are to come up at the Pension Payment office in Khilwath, (2149.71 sq. mts), Old Jail in Secunderabad -(968.66 sq. mts), Ghasmandi in Secunderabad (577.96 sq. mts),Behind Jalagam Vengala Rao Park on Road No.1 Banjara Hills (2,918.90 sq. mts), Gurudwara Bus Bay near Secunderabad (3,910.00 sq. mts).
