Discourse

Sri Rama Baktha Jana Trust will conduct a spiritual discourse by S.V.Gowrishankar at Sri Gopalakrishna Temple, on July 9 at 6 p.m.

Gnanam programme

Thambraas, Vadavalli unit, and Sri Krishna Sweets will organise "Gnanam" programme at the Arulmighu Veeramatre Amman Koil on July 9 at 6 p.m.

Thirukkural contest

Shriram Group will conduct "Thirukkural Vizha 2006," a State-level elocution contest for school and college students in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. The preliminary round of the competition will be held on July 29 at the Suburban Matriculation Higher Secondary School. Four students from college level can participate. Application forms are available at the Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam at Saibaba Colony. Last date for submitting filled in applications is July 15. For details, contact, 4384037.

Competitions

Coimbatore District Sports and Games Welfare Association will conduct district level competitions for schoolchildren in the third week of July. The last date for receiving applications is July 15. Those interested in participating can send two self-addressed envelopes affixing Rs.4 stamp to O.Shanmughasundaram, General Secretary, Coimbatore District Sports and Games Welfare Association, 1/343, Adiyapatham Street, N.G.G.O's Colony, Coimbatore 641-022.

Band music, carnatic music, Bharatanatyam, village dance, fancy dress, elocution, mono act, drawing and painting and recitation are some of the competitions that will be conducted.
