Grocery store owner kidnapped

HYDERABAD: Miscreants allegedly kidnapped a grocery store owner Lalchand, 40, from Malkajgiri area on Monday night.

Four persons reportedly drove to Lalchand's shop-cum-house in New Mirjalaguda in a jeep. Two of them forced him to lock the shop and took him away in the jeep. The Malkajgiri police said motive behind the kidnap was not yet known.

But the abducted businessman was earlier accused of purchasing stolen property from offenders. A criminal case was also registered against him three years ago by Mahbubnagar police on this charge. The abducted businessman is from Rajasthan. He came to city some 10 years ago.
