Engineers, graduates among those elected

Staff Reporter

ADILABAD: There are a couple of engineers, both of them tribals, among the 52 newly-elected Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) members in Adilabad district.

A look at the educational qualifications of the new ZPTC members also reveals that some of them have degree and certificate in teaching respectively.

Rathod Ramu of Khanapur and Lavudia Bakshi Naik of Jannaram are engineering graduates, the latter had quit Government service during the last Assembly elections.

Five members are graduates having either BA, B.Com or B.Sc. degrees. The TDP's declared choice for chairman's post Rathod Ramesh belongs to this category.

A majority of 17 members have given their educational qualifications as SSC while 14 of the members figure in the first to ninth standard category of education.

Eight of the members are assumed to be illiterates because they have not mentioned their qualification in the nomination forms.
