Rajahmundry: The advisory committee of Adikavi Nannayya University has decided to start land acquisition for new buildings in Velugubanda area in Rajahmundry rural area at the earliest and tentatively decided to lay foundation for constructions in the month of September by the Chief Minister. Speaking to Media on Wednesday after the meeting, Mr. R.C. Reddy, Chairman of AP Higher Education Council said that the Government has sanctioned Rs.10 crores as first instalment and major portion of that will be spent on land acquisition. He clarified that the Academic year will commence from August as per schedule and decided to run classes in Arts College on second shift in the afternoons. He also stated that they are going to have temporary accommodation for Library, Faculty Buildings and Guesthouse on rental basis behind the Arts College area. Minister for Roads and Buildings J. Ramamohana Rao, In-charge Vice-Chancellor L. Venugopala Reddy, District Collector M. Subrahmanyam, professor C. Ratnam and others were present.
