No shortage of textbooks, says NCERT
Ashish Bahad, Assistant Public Relations Officer, National Council of Educational Research and Training, writes:
Please refer the news item "Shortage of NCERT books to hit CBSE schools" published in The Hindu on June 7, 2006. NCERT would like to point out that the news item is misleading and published without taking the views of the Council.
The fact is that the Council has provided the textbooks in sufficient quantity in all the States through its network of 255 wholesale agents directly to avoid the situation of shortage of textbooks.
