Government machinery misused: TDP

Correspondent

CHITTOOR: The ruling Congress Government in the State has acted unilaterally from the preparation of voters lists till polling without following democratic norms and won the local body elections alleged TDP MLA and president of the district unit of the party Amarnadha Reddy. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said that in spite of intimidation of voters, atrocities and attack on party workers besides distribution of money and liquor, the TDP has fared well in the MPTC & ZPTC elections.

The police and polling officials behaved like agents of the Congress party. Besides, Congress MLAs were permitted inside the polling booths with their gunmen which was against the election code, he alleged.

The results indicate that the people are disgusted with the Congress rule. He felt that the party will come to power in the next Assembly elections with the help of the people.

The State Committee Member B. N. Ramasimhulu has accused the Collector and SP of favouring the Congress leaders.
