Indian squad for SAF Games

BANGALORE: The Swimming Federation of India has named a 21-member Indian team for the forthcoming SAF Games to be held at Colombo from August.18.

The squad was selected after the trials held during the Junior Nationals at Chennai last week. The National camp for the SAF Games will be held at SAI (South) Centre in Kengeri, Bangalore from July 10.

The squad:

Men: Rehan Poncha, Rohit Hawaldar, N.A. Sandeep, Aaron D'Souza, J.P. Arjun (all from Karnataka), Varun Divgikar, Virdhaval Khade (Maharashtra), Sandeep Sejawal (Delhi), Arjun Muralidharan, Amar Muralidharan and Mandhar Divase (all Police).

Women: Pooja R. Alva, Kshipra Mahajan, V. Tejaswini, B. Neeraja, Madhavi Giri (all Karnataka), Lekha Kamath, Surabhi Tipre, Aparna Magdum (all Maharashtra), Preeti Parekh (Gujarat) and Fariah Zaman (Assam).

Coaches: S. Pradeep Kumar (Chief National coach, Karnataka), Satish Suri (Delhi), B. Dey Chowdhry (SAI, Kolkata), V. Padmanabha Rao (Karnataka) and Gokul Kamath (Maharashtra).
