Mixed fortunes for IRRS and St. Britto's
MADURAI: Idyam Rajendran Residential School and St. Britto's HSS had mixed fortunes in the inter-school games meet organised by the TVS Lakshmi MHSS here on Wednesday.
IRRS won the boys basketball title by defeating St. Britto's HSS, while St. Britto's won the volleyball title by downing IRRS.
The results: Boys: Basketball (final): IRRS 60 (Nithiban 15, Ayyanar 10) bt St. Britto's 40 (Mani Bharathi 20, Rajasekar 15). Semifinals: IRRS bt TVS LMHSS 49-10; St. Britto's bt Vikaasa 42-19. Volleyball (Final): St. Britto's bt IRRS 25-19, 25-17. Semifinals: St. Britto's bt Mahatma Montessori School, Alagarkoil 25-5, 25-7; IRRS bt Mangayarkarasi HSS 25-20, 18-25, 25-8. Girls: Volleyball (final): MMS, K.K. Nagar bt CSR HSS, Thirunagar 25-13, 25-16.
