MALAPPURAM: The pre-counselling guidance programme for professional course aspirants to be held at Manjeri on Saturday under the auspices of The Hindu-Educationplus has evoked a zestful response. Scores of students awaiting the State Government's Centralised Allotment Process (CAP), which is going on-line this year, have confirmed their participation during the first two days of the registration at The Hindu 's offices in Malappuram and Kozhikode. Registration will continue till Friday. Participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis as the number will be restricted taking into account the capacity of the venue. This programme follows successful sessions in Kozhikode, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram held last month for the third year running. Students appear to be looking forward to the Manjeri session particularly in the context of the on-line counselling mode. Many students and parents who came to The Hindu 's offices for registration brought up the topic. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) is responsible for providing on-line CAP. Students at the Manjeri session are expected to get an opportunity to take part in a videoconference with a senior NIC official, who will explain the process. Tulip IT Services will be the Technology Partner for the event. BSNL is providing connectivity. Participants will get to hear and interact with a panel of experts from the medical, engineering and agricultural fields present in Manjeri. Malappuram district panchayat president Arimbra Mohammed will inaugurate the programme, to be held in association with Canara Bank. The session will start at Woodbine Auditorium, Court Road, Manjeri, at 9 a.m. Registrations are on at Kiliyamannil Plaza, Manjeri Road, Uphill, Malappuram (Phone: 0483- 2736661) and at Shaz Building, Kannur Road, Kozhikode (Phone: 0495- 2762201).
