KOLLAM: A plan hatched by five men to allegedly burgle a finance company in the city on Tuesday night was frustrated by the Kilikollur police. Three members of the gang were arrested while two of them escaped. The police said that during a routine beat on Tuesday night, they noticed the gang hiding behind a transformer at Peroor. From the arrested trio, swords and choppers were seized. During interrogations, they confessed of the plan to burgle the finance company. Their names were given by the police as Sameer, Nazeer and Vamadevan. The identity of the duo who managed to escape were given as Khaleed and Jaleel. All the five are involved in over 20 cases of robbery and dacoity. The five got acquainted with each other while undergoing a prison term, the police said.
