Counselling process of COMED-K from July 10

552 medical seats and 7,000 engineering seats will be on offer

BANGALORE:
The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) is all set to launch its seat selection (counselling) process from July 10 at NMKRV College, Jayanagar, here. To be held between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., the process will open the doors to 552 medical seats (including 120 seats from minority colleges) and 7,000 engineering seats for students to choose from.
For medical and dental seats, the counselling will be from July 10 to 13. For engineering seats, the counselling will be between July 15 and 31. The second round of counselling for medical and dental seats will take place on August 3 and 4. For engineering seats, the second round of counselling will start from August 7 to 13. For the 50 per cent medical/dental seats, 30 per cent will be allotted on counselling based on general merit, 15 per cent will be set aside for NRIs and remaining 5 per cent for the discretion of the college.
For the general merit category, the concessional fee for the medical course is Rs. 35,000 and the higher fee is Rs. 2,90,000. For dental course, the concessional fee is Rs. 25,000 and the higher fee Rs. 2,30,000. In engineering, the concessional fee is Rs. 15,000 and higher fee Rs. 85,000. For NRIs, the annual fee slabs are Rs. 5 lakh for engineering, Rs. 3 lakh for dental course and Rs. 2 lakh for medical course.
