CHENNAI: Studio G3's anniversary package holds good news for students, struggling documentary filmmakers, and aspiring singers. The postproduction studio that has ventured outside Kodambakkam, Chennai filmdom's domain, has announced a series of offers to mark its first year of existence. The studio is situated just off Mount Road, on Ellis Road. It is equipped to handle multi-track sound recording, non-linear editing and computer graphics suites with networking. Sujatha Gopal, who runs the studio along with her husband, said that given the location and competitive pricing, they have many visual communications students approaching them to complete their class projects. So they are offering 40 per cent off the card rate. Ms. Gopal also said that since many students approach them for internships, Studio G3 would be offering eight students a one-day internship every Saturday. Students will need an authorisation letter from their college to make use of these offers. Filmmakers with social messages are offered a 50 per cent discount for making short films and documentaries, while documentary filmmakers will be given a 25 per cent discount. Aspiring singers, music directors and instrumentalists can get a demo CD done at a 50 per cent discount on the card rate, said Ms. Gopal. For details on other offers, call 044 - 42057881.
