When tiny tots turned into colourful fruits


BANGALORE: It was a "fruitful" day at St. Ann's High School, Rajajinagar. The school organised a fancy fruit fest titled "Fruitful 2006" for students of nursery classes. The day saw the children dressed as bananas, grapes, oranges, mangoes and other fruits, vying with one another to be crowned the King and Queen of the fest. The children also danced to the tunes of rhymes on the day.

T. Balakrishna, chairman, St. Ann's and Venkat Group of Institutions, and Sulochana Balakrishna, principal, Venkat International Public School, appreciated the performance of the students.

Investiture ceremony

National Public School, Koramangala, organised its investiture ceremony in the school auditorium recently.

Pooja Suresh and Nithin Sheshadri were appointed school captain and vice-captain respectively. The house captains are: Abhimanyu Rajvanshi (Challengers), Apurva Peri (Explorers), Nandini Ravi (Voyagers) and Prashanth N. (Pioneers).


Principal Bindu Hari congratulated the new office-bearers. She spoke on the theory of multiple intelligence, giving examples of how intra-personal and inter-personal intelligence can help students deal with various situations they face in their daily life.

The students presented group songs and a tap dance. Pooja Suresh pledged to stand by the school motto "Reach out, reach high, reach beyond."

Teachers felicitated

Florence Public School, R.T. Nagar, organised its investiture ceremony on the school premises recently. The programme began with the ceremonial march past by the school office-bearers.

Principal Abida administered the oath of office to the budding leaders and urged them to be courteous, unbiased and to work without self-interest. The chairman urged the newly appointed office-bearers to discharge their duties with dedication and sincerity.

Dharshan. R., newly appointed student secretary, and Tabassum Fathima, student secretary (girls), spoke. School prefect Anjali Aithal spoke on the role of a school leader in the present scenario.

The management felicitated teachers for the performance of students in the board examinations.

`Scroll of honour'

Ryan International School, Brookefields, held its investiture ceremony on the school campus. A.F. Pinto, founder chairman of the school, handed over the "scroll of honour" and "badges of responsibility" to the members of the student council.
