Bank's gesture

CHENNAI: Karur Vysya Bank donated Rs. 50,000 to various charitable institutions in the city in commemoration of Founder's Day on Saturday. The organisations which benefitted were Little Flower Convent School for the Blind and Deaf, Kaakum Karangal, Sri Saradha Sakthi Peetam, The Banyan, Ramakrishna Mission Students Home, Mylapore and Vasavi Anna Dhana Samajam.

Course on Thirukkural

Mylai Thiruvalluvar Tamizh Sangam is organising free three-month course on Tirukkural for persons of all age groups at Thiruvalluvar Temple, Mylapore from July 10. The course, organised along with Thiruvalluvar Tirukoil-Hindu Religious Endowment Board and A.M.M. Freshers welcomed

Guru Nanak College recently held a welcome ceremony for freshers. John Morais, principal of the college, introduced the head of the departments and explained college activities to students and their parents.

Diploma courses

Madras Management Association has launched postgraduate diplomas in Finance, Human Resources and Operations Management along with the Institute for Financial Management and Research. The programmes are targeted at working executives without any exposure to management education.

Neurology camp

A neurology camp will be conducted at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Alwarpet from Friday to July 11 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The camp will address problems such as loss of memory, headache, epilepsy and neuro muscular diseases.

Investigations such as CT scan-brain and blood routine would be held at SRMC-Porur at a concessional rate.

The Maha Kumbhabishekam at Sri Selva Vinayakar temple, Pillayar Koil Street, Annanoor, will be performed at 9.45 a.m. on Thursday.

School programme
