Protestors demand filling of 80,000 teacher posts

HYDERABAD: Unemployed youth from different parts of the State held a rally under the banner of Andhra Pradesh B.Ed Students' Joint Action Committee here on Wednesday to press their demand for inclusion in DSC-2006.

They also demanded filling up of 80,000 teachers' posts.

Holding placards and raising slogans, the youth marched from Sundarayya Park to Ramnagar crossroads, where they staged a sit in.

Addressing the protestors, R. Krishnaiah, president, Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes Welfare Association, charged Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy with "cheating" the unemployed youth by not implementing pre-election promises to fill vacant teacher's posts and holding DSCs every year.

Leaders of the committee - V. Srinivas, Manikyala Rao, Prabhakar, Raju Yadav - addressed the gathering along with those belonging to several BC youth and students' organisations.

They said the agitation would continue till the Government concedes their demands.
