Four killed in accidents

HYDERABAD: Four persons, including a three-year-old girl, were killed and four others sustained injuries in road accidents in the city on Wednesday.

A lorry rammed into a Maruti van coming in opposite direction at Bollaram killing Nandita, 3, who was travelling in it along with her family members.

The girl's father Gopi Goud was a resident of Ghatkesar. They were coming to Bollaram to attend a function when the accident occurred.

Two contract workers of Uppal Municipality - Mogilaiah, 38, and Raju, 30, - died when the tractor trolley, in which they were returning home after dumping the garbage, overturned at Nagole.

The tractor driver Bhikshapathi sustained serious injuries and was shifted to Gandhi Hospital.

A businessman from Karimnagar district died while his partner and two friends were seriously injured when the car they were travelling in hit the divider at Katta Maisamma temple end of Telugu Talli flyover in the early hours of Wednesday.

The victim Jeevan Kumar, 28, and his partner Ramesh, 23, came to city in a car two days ago. Kumar partied till late in the night with his friends Francis and Franklin of Domalguda.

He, along with Ramesh, was returning to drop them at their house after having dinner at a hotel in Lakdikapul when the accident occurred.
