Letters to the Editor
One wonders how many times the Prime Minister will give in to threats from coalition partners. The decision to disinvest in BHEL was also put on hold after the Left opposed it. Progress should be the main agenda of the ruling coalition. The Government should meet the threat by parties that they will withdraw support. If necessary, it should go in for fresh elections seeking a clear and defined mandate.
K. Venkataraman,
* * * A 10 per cent disinvestment will not in anyway affect the employees, as the Government's equity presence will continue to be sound. Again, why the employees in PSUs dread the private management is a moot question.
R.K. Menon,
