NEW DELHI : Senior BJP leader and Tughlakabad MLA Ramesh Bidhuri on Thursday demanded resignation of the Outer Delhi Member of Parliament Sajjan Kumar for using foul language against a Dalit and trying to stall developmental works of his rivals leading to strong protests by the local population. In a statement here, Mr. Bidhuri said there were strong protests by the local people on Tuesday at Sangam Vihar in Tughlakabad Assembly segment when Mr. Kumar reached there to inaugurate a re-bored tube well that had already been inaugurated the same day in the morning in the presence of officials of the Delhi Jal Board. Mr. Bidhuri said Mr. Kumar had been trying to create obstacles in the path of developmental works in the Tughlakabad constituency in connivance with some officials in order to defame the local MLA and claim credit for everything that was being done. "It does not behove a leader of his stature to come down to such a level and take credit for even digging of tube wells when that work has been done by the local MLA," he added. Stating that Mr. Kumar had humiliated the Dalits by using foul language against one individual, the BJP legislator said the MP had already managed to get anticipatory bail in the case. It is not only the elected representatives but also the local people who are now aware of the tactics of Mr. Kumar and they had come out in large numbers to protest when he came to again inaugurate the tube well boring project on Tuesday evening. "Mr. Kumar has no moral right to continue as an MP and should resign from his post immediately for having abused a Dalit," he remarked.
