MBBS, BDS counselling from July 14

  • Under Phase I, counselling will be for open seats from 1 to 500 ranks on July 14, says varsity Registrar Jayakara Babu
  • Counselling for ranks 501 to 2000 on July 15 and for 2001 to 6000 on July 16
  • In Phase II, reserved categories will be taken up from July 17 to 20


    VIJAYAWADA: Counselling for EAMCET-2006 rankholders seeking admission to MBBS/BDS courses for 2006-07 will begin at five centres in the State on July 14. The candidates who have submitted their applications in time may attend counselling at any one of these centres.

    Registrar of Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences P. Jayakara Babu says that in phase-I, counselling will begin with open competition seats from one to 500 ranks on July 14 at 9 a.m. Candidates of all categories claiming open competition seats should attend counselling. Counselling for open category seats from 501 to 2,000 ranks will be held on July 15 and from 2,001 to 6,000 ranks on July 16.

    In phase-II, re-allotment of college to reserved categories of BCs, SCs and STs selected under OC and also seats reserved for these categories will be taken up for one to 400 ranks on July 17. On July 18, counselling will be conducted for 4,001 to 16,000 ranks in BC-A and for 4,001 to 14,000 ranks in BC-D categories. BC-B and BC-C rankers from 4,001 to 15,000 may attend counselling on July 19. On July 20, SC candidates from 4,001 to 21,000 ranks and ST candidates from 4,001 to 40,000 ranks may attend counselling.

    The five counselling centres are at JNT University: UGC Academic Staff College building, Kukatpally, Hyderabad; Osmania University: Centre for Distance Education, Hyderabad; Andhra University: International Centre Building, Visakhapatnam; Acharya Nagarjuna University: Student Centre, Guntur district; and SV University: Old MBA building, Tirupati.

    The schedule for counselling for the seats reserved under special categories (Anglo Indian, PH, NCC, CAP (Army) and sports and games) will be notified later. The open competition seats in medical and dental colleges will be filled simultaneously.

    Dr. Jayakara Babu says that candidates should bring all original certificates and two sets of attested Xerox copies and a demand draft for college and university fee.

    Details of seats available in various colleges will be displayed at the university and on the university website (www.ntruhs.ap.nic.in) on July 13.
