A well-argued reply
Special Correspondent
Bangalore:
Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy did a "Krishna Menon" in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday through his marathon reply to the weeklong debate on the BMIC project issue.
Mr. Kumaraswamy took nearly seven hours to hit out at the promoter of the project, NICE which has dragged the Government up to the Supreme Court and thrown various challenges at it. V.K. Krishna Menon, former Defence Minister, had spoken for nine hours in the United Nations General Assembly over the Kashmir issue in the early 1960s countering the arguments of the eminent Pakistani jurist M. Zafarullah Khan, who in pre-partition India was a judge of the Federal Court.
It was a fighting and well-argued reply from Mr. Kumaraswamy who is serving his first term in the Legislative Assembly. It was a challenging reply.
