DYFI to hold `Chakra stambana' stir today
Thiruvananthapuram:
The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) will organise 10-minute `Chakra stambana' stir on Friday as part of a nationwide agitation demanding the withdrawal of the hike in the prices of petroleum products. A release from the DYFI said the protest will be held from 2 p.m. to 2.10 p.m. in 125 centres in the district. The DYFI has asked motorists to stop all vehicles during the 10-minute period and support the agitation. — Staff Reporter
Uniforms distributed
Thiruvananthapuram:
Uniforms, bags, umbrellas and study materials were distributed to the students of Government School, Sasthamangalam, by the Public Health and Community Service Committee of the YMCA. Mayor C. Jayan Babu distributed the materials at a function presided over by committee chairman George Varghese in the school auditorium on Monday. — Staff Reporter
