Playing a great power game, L.A. Hoad, the first-seeded 21-year-old Australian champion, won the men's singles final in the All-England Lawn Tennis Championships at Wimbledon on July 6, beating K.R. Rosewall, seeded No. 2, by three sets to one, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.
