Ifra meeting concludes in Bangalore

BANGALORE: The meeting of the board of directors and that of senators of Ifra World Wide concluded here on Friday. The `senators' are past board members.

Ifra is an association of publishers and suppliers, devoted to the development of technology in the media and publishing industry. The association has its headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. It has currently about 34 members, both publications and their suppliers.

Ifra India based in Chennai plans to establish a materials testing laboratory to check the quality of newsprint used by the newspaper publishing industry. The annual conference of Ifra India will also be held in Chennai in September.

On Thursday, the Ifra delegation visited Infosys Technologies and interacted with its Chairman and Chief Mentor N.R. Narayana Murthy and Chief Executive Officer, Nandan Nilekani.

The meeting in Bangalore was jointly hosted by K.N. Shanth Kumar, Editor, Deccan Herald, who is a board member of Ifra and N. Murali, Managing Director, The Hindu , who is a board senator of Ifra.
