KU competitions to begin from August 22

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The inter-collegiate competitions of Kerala University will get underway when the aquatic championships begin at the Water Works Swimming Pool on August 22 and 23.

The athletic events will be held at the University Stadium from November 5 to 7.

The teams for various inter-university competitions will be selected from these meets, which will be conducted on a single zone and a two-zone basis.

Single Zone:

Aquatics on August 22 and 23 at Water Works Swimming Pool, Thiruvananthapuram; Chess on September 12 and 13 at DB College, Sasthamcotta; Kabaddi (women) on September 11 and 12 at Government College, Kariyavattom; Ball Badminton (women) on September 1 at NSS College, Karamana; Canoeing & Kayaking on September 19, St. Joseph's College, Alappuzha; Table Tennis on September 22, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram; Cross Country on September 26, SN College, Chempazanthy; Weightlifting & Best Physique on October 5 and 6 at University Stadium; Cycling on October 12 at LNCPE, Kariyavattom; Ball Badminton (men) on October 17 and 18 at Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram; Hockey (men) on October 19 and 20 at FMNC, Kollam; Hockey (women) on October 19 and 20 at SNCW, Kollam; Cricket (women) on October 23 at LNCPE, Kariyavattom; Kho-Kho (men & women) on October 25 and 26 at College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram; Football (women) on October 30 at University Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram; Basketball (men) on November 1 and 2 at Younus Engineering College, Kollam; Half-marathon on November 14 at Mount Tabore Training College, Pathanapuram; Tennis (men & women) on November 9 and 10 at TKM (Arts), Kollam; Volleyball (women) on November 13 and 14 at PMTC, Pathanapuram; Handball (men & women) from November 15 to 17 at University stadium, Thiruvananthapuram; Athletics (men & women) from December 5 to 7 at LNCPE, Kariyavattom; Wrestling on December 11 at LNCPE, Kariyavattom; Air-rifle shooting on December 15 and 16 at Government College, Kariyavattom.

Two Zone:

Cricket from November 6 to 7, NSS College, Pandalam; Football (men) from September 18 to 29 at St. Michael's College, Cherthala; Kabaddi (men) on September 11 and 12 at Government College, Kariyavattom. — Principal Correspondent
