Colleges told to adhere to quota norms

Staff Reporter

ALAPPUZHA : KPCC secretary Johnson Abraham has demanded action against those private college managements which sabotage chances of students from Dalit and backward communities while making admissions to Plus One course.

In a statement here on Friday, Mr. Abraham said several managements were found admitting Dalit and backward caste students who are eligible for admission in open merit category in reservation quota.

The managements had been found limiting the number of such students while making admissions, said Mr. Abraham.

He demanded that the managements publish vacancies in reservation quota seats in their colleges.

The State Government should take action against those colleges that failed to do so, he said. He also demanded that the Government take action to prevent managements accepting donations for admissions.
