MYSORE: Rangayana director Chidambara Rao Jambe on Friday said that the theatre repertory's unit in Dharwad would start functioning shortly as the State Government had reacted to the proposal positively. He told presspersons here on Friday that the theatre repertory had submitted a proposal to start Rangayana in Dharwad to benefit theatre activities in north Karnataka. The Government had reacted positively to this Rs. 52-lakh proposal, he added. Stating that theatre activities such as workshops and plays would be conducted throughout the year, he said. The Dharwad unit of Rangayana would hire 10 artistes. Subsequently, the number of artistes would be increased to 30 in three years. Mr. Jambe said the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation had agreed to give D. Basavaraj Rajguru Open Air Auditorium to Rangayana.
