Three die in accident

PONDICHERRY: Three persons died when a motorcycle collided head on with a moped near Karuvadikuppam on the East Coast Road on Thursday. Quoting eyewitnesses, police said the accident occurred when a motorcyclist, driving on the wrong side of the road, rammed a moped killing himself and the pillion rider on the spot.

Seenu and Pancha (both 25), who were on the pillion were returning after a party. The moped rider Raja also died on the spot and his 14-year-old son has been admitted to the General Hospital. His condition is stated to be stable. They were taken to a private hospital near the accident spot, but the doctors declared them brought dead.
