Vivus Group to open cardiac care centre

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The Vivus Group, a cardiac care, hospital management and healthcare services group, has announced the setting up of a 10-bed cardiac care unit (CCU) at St. Theresa's Hospital in Rajajinagar here. The unit will be opened on July 15.

Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, S.S. Ramesh, chairman and managing director of the Vivus Group and consultant cardiac surgeon, said the CCU would have various facilities including TMT, echocardiography, cardiology consultation and 24-hour emergency and ambulance facilities.

"The idea about having this unit was to reach people closer to their homes. Our efforts have been towards reaching healthcare services to the doorstep of the people. Through our collaborations with hospitals across the city, we help patients get medical help sooner so that they do not have to travel long distances during an emergency," Dr. Ramesh said.

He said that apart from this venture, Vivus was also tying up with Sharada Rotary Hospital in Shankarapuram here to provide cardiology and diabetology consultation and Medi CT Diagnostic Centre in Malleswaram to offer TMT, echocardiography and cardiology consultation.

Dr. Ramesh added that a 150-bed heart hospital in the centre of Bangalore and a 500-bed speciality hospital in North Bangalore were in the pipeline.
