SRINAGAR: The lower court premises here on Friday witnessed unruly scenes when sex accused - all handcuffed, were brought here before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar. Two of them shouted demanding justice which led to commotion and the court was adjourned until July 14. Former Additional Advocate General Anil Sethi and Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ashraf Mir started shouting against the CBI stating that they were brought in court handcuffed which was "in violation of Supreme Court ruling". "We do not expect justice here but from the Supreme Court", they said alleging that they were being framed. The CJM, however, adjourned the hearing till July 14 and asked the CBI to complete challan in the case in a week's time. Some people in the complex started hurling stones toward the Court building. Police later identified them as relatives of sex accused. On the other hand when all the accused were being escorted out by police, people on streets hurled choicest invectives on them. The bail applications of two other accused, Ghulam Ahmed Mir and Raman Mattoo - two former ministers was deferred till tomorrow. The court also sent another DSP Mohammad Yusuf Mir to 14-day judicial custody. In all nine of the accused were present in court which included Sabina, the alleged linchpin, DSP Mohammad Ashraf Mir, DIG BSF K Padhi, Shabir Kalla besides others. Top IAS officer M I Khandey who was also arrested in the case was represented by his son Sajid who pleaded before the court that CBI was not giving him the details of charges slapped on his father. Though the work in J&K High Court and other subordinate courts was suspended today following the death of a former judicial officer Mohammad Amin Nehvi, but the sex abuse case was an exception. Meanwhile, the state Govt. on Friday placed under suspension the IAS officer Khander and two DSP's Mohammad Ashraf Mir and Mohammad Yusuf Mir who have been in custody for last two weeks. Order to this effect were issued on Friday, official sources said.
