YSR urged to react on land allotment

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Alleging involvement of people in top posts in the allotment of 200 acres of prime evacuee land near city to a private party, the TDP has asked Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to break his silence on the controversy.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, K. Yerran Naidu, leader of the TD Parliamentary Party and S. Venugopala Chary, ex-MP, alleged that Dr. Reddy's studied silence raised doubts whether the allotment had benefited a young upcoming leader close to him. "There is room for suspicion as the allotment could not have happened without the knowledge of the Chief Minister and the Revenue Minister. They did not do enough to stay the allotment especially when it was not a one-day affair," they said.
