Focus on emotional, spiritual intelligence

NEW DELHI: Sir Ganga Ram Hospital along with the World Academy of Spiritual Sciences (WASS) is holding a seminar on emotional and spiritual intelligence. This is the third seminar to be organised by WASS and will be conducted by Dr. Girish Patel on Saturday at Siri Fort Auditorium-II from 4-30 p.m.

On this occasion, Delhi Health and Family Welfare Minister Yoganand Shastri will be the chief guest and advisor in the Department of Science and Technology, Union Government, Anuj Sinha will be the guest of honour.

Construction work reviewed

NEW DELHI: Sushil Choudhery, MLA from Kasturba Nagar, held a meeting on Friday to review the progress of the Moolchand crossing underpass and the two sub-way project on Ring Road at Lajpat Nagar III and Andrews Ganj. Savita Gupta, Municipal Councillor, and various representatives of the residents' welfare association of the area were present at the meeting.

Mr. Choudhery said construction work was going ahead as per schedule and expressed hope that it would be completed within the stipulated time.

NIOS counselling centres

NEW DELHI: In an attempt to streamline its admission process, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is offering admission by counselling through selected nodal centres in trans-Yamuna.

The nodal centres identified in the area are Kendriya Vidyalaya, New Friends Centre, Vigyan Vihar; Government Girls Senior Secondary School, B-1 Block, Yamuna Vihar; and Government B.S.S School, Jafrabad. The regional centre is at NIOS, Institutional Area, Noida. The Accredited Institutions under these nodal centres will not have to undergo the process of admission in their institutions. To make the system more learner-friendly, NIOS has deputed an official to look after each nodal centre so as to guide candidates.

Last date extended

NEW DELHI: Those looking to study at Delhi University at the post-graduate level have got some more time to apply. The last date for registration for admission to M.A. or M.Sc. programmes in Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research under the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences of Delhi University have been extended till July 18.

Saplings planted

NEW DELHI: New Delhi Municipal Council chairperson Sindhushree Khullar launched the Vanamahotsava programme of the civic body at Navyug School premises here on Vinay Marg on Thursday. More than 100 saplings were planted on the occasion. Children from the school and citizens from adjoining areas and civic body officials participated in the programme. NDMC plans to plant 10,000 trees in the coming two months.
