Congress, TDP wary of poaching

CHITTOOR: The Congress and the Telugu Desam are on `high' alert to protect their MPTC and ZPTC members from poaching by each other till the election of ZP chairperson on July 10 and mandal parishad presidents on July 11.

Congress aspirants for the ZP chief post have begun mobilising candidates to their camps to prove their majority.

On the election of presidents of mandal parishads, both parties' leaders have set up camps for candidates where their position is weak.

The Congress had bagged 519 MPTC posts while the TDP won 311 posts in the district.
