MANGALORE: An amount of Rs. 40,000 was stolen from a commercial complex at Dongerkery under Mangalore East (Kadri) police station limits on Thursday night. Police said thieves gained entry into the Teachers Cooperative Bank as well as offices of an advocate, a finance company and office of the Association of Mangalore University College Teachers located in the complex.
Case registered
Although the thieves drew a blank at the bank and the offices of AMUCT and the finance company, they took away Rs. 40,000 kept in the advocate's office, police said. The Mangalore East Police have registered a case on complaints from R. Sherigar, bank manager, and Udupa, the advocate.
Two-wheeler stolen
A motorcycle parked on the premises of Hotel Annapoorneshwari at Kulai under Suratkal police station limits was stolen. Police registered a case. Investigations are on.
Arrested
The Mangalore North (Bunder) police have arrested a person who was moving around on the Car Street raising suspicion early on Friday. Police stated that A.P. Kabir (30), a resident of Kozhikode in Kerala, was seen lurking near a jewellery store at 2.40 a.m. A case has been registered. Police are investigating.
