Income Tax raids on business group

CHENNAI:
Undisclosed assets worth Rs. 1.8 crore and incriminating documents relating to the manipulation of accounts were seized by Income Tax (Investigation) Department officers, following a raid conducted on the residential and business premises of a group dealing in the distribution of two and four wheelers on Tuesday. According to an official release, the group has operations in Chennai, Vellore, Tiruchi, Madurai, Theni, Tirunelveli and Tuticorin.
In all, 60 premises including nine residential premises were searched. The search was organised by the Additional Director of Income Tax (Investigation), Madurai, under the direction of the Director General of Income Tax (Investigation) and the Director of Income Tax (Investigation), Chennai.
