Student drowned

TAMBARAM: A 19-year-old college student was drowned in a well at Mannivakkam near Tambaram on Thursday.

Police said Ganesh Babu, a second year mechanical engineering student at an engineering college in Rathinamangalam near Vandalur, was a resident of Mylapore.

On Thursday, along with two of his friends, he went to a well in a nearby farm in Mannivakkam for a swim, where he drowned. Firemen and farmers retrieved his body.
