HYDERABAD:
A vigorous campaign at the urban body level (UBL) to involve community-based organisations has been mooted by officials who delved on the issue of municipal solid waste management during a seminar organised by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department here on Friday.
A representative of the Water and Sanitation Programme of World Bank and officials from the National Building Construction Corporation assured the UBLs and the State Government of technical assistance to take up integrated solid waste management facilities at all the selected 19 clusters of UBLs in the State.
It also reviewed problems related to adoption of two-bin system, deployment of tricycles for door-to-door collection and dustbin designs apart from strategies to overcome existing bottlenecks
