Applications for scholarships invited

The Karnataka State Board of Wakfs has invited applications for scholarships from poor and needy Muslim boys seeking admission to professional courses and those attending coaching for competitive examinations such as the civil services. Interested students should apply in the prescribed form, which can be downloaded from the Wakf Board's website www.karwakf.org. The last date for receipt of applications is September 30, according to a release.

Change in phone numbers

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) telephone numbers starting with `2634,' `2651', `2652' and `2655' working from Jayanagar C-DoT exchange will be changed to `2234,' `2251,' `2252' and `2255' respectively with effect from the midnight of July 15, according to an official press release.

Transport adalat

The Regional Transport Officer (RTO) of Bangalore Central will hold a `transport adalat' at the RTO office in BDA Shopping Complex, Hall No. 4, 2nd floor, Koramangala at 3 p.m. on July 10. Grievances and suggestions pertaining to the RTO Central jurisdiction can be submitted at the adalat.

Auction

The BMP is auctioning tree branches.

According to a press release from the civic body, 3,450 tree branches had been cut since October 14, 2005.

The branches are being auctioned on the BMP premises, N.R. Chowk.
