Two held on charge of selling pirated CDs

Thiruvananthapuram: The Fort police have arrested two persons on charges of selling pirated film CDs, including those with pornographic content. The accused were identified as Shabi, 42, of Beemapally and Shanawaz, 22, of Pallipuram.

The police said the accused were peddling CDs in front of the Pazhavangadi Ganapathy temple. They will be produced before the court on Monday on charges of violating the Copyright, Cinematographic and Pornographic Acts.

One held

The Fort police have arrested a person on the charge of stealing the metal cover of a sewage line near Manacaud. The accused was identified as Mansoor, 24, a resident of Puthenthode near Vallakadavu. He will be produced before the court on the charge of theft on Saturday.
