Thiruvananthapuram: Search for two persons, including the chief priest of Plavirathala Bhagavathy Temple, Oruttambalam, who were washed away by waves while participating in the `arat' of the Sree Krishna Siva Nagar temple, Muloor near Vizhinjam on Thursday, was called off on Friday evening due to inclement weather. The personnel of the Marine Enforcement and the life guards had carried out search from Friday morning for the chief priest, Rajesh, 23, and his assistant, Vidyadharan, 44, both residents of Muloor, who were missing since 5.45 p.m on Thursday. Over 250 locals blocked the Vizhinjam-Poovar road from 3.30 p.m. to protest against the delay. The stir was called off following the assurance of the District Collector that the Navy would carry out search from Saturday.
