Mumbai firm ties up with Russian college

CHENNAI: A Mumbai-based immigration-cum-education overseas consulting company, ERA Recruitants, has entered into a contract with Russia's Sasovo Flying College of Civil Aviation to provide Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL) training to students in India.

Addressing presspersons on the strategic partnership with a Russian Education Consulting company, PORU-S, to promote Russian education in India and South Asia, Raja Roy Choudhury, Managing Director of ERA Recruitants, said the 14-month comprehensive CPL training programme, subsidised by the Russian Government, would cost around Rs.13 lakh.

The cost covers language proficiency training, theory classes, ground tests/simulator training, flying on single and multiple engines for about 250 hours, complete documentation, visa processing, relocation support to students seeking education in Russia.

The flying training would be on Yaks, AN-2, Cessna and Piper. A student-pilot, after acquiring the CPL from Sasovo, had to undergo a conversion exam conducted by the Director-General of Civil Aviation in India to fly in Indian air space.
