Municipal Commissioner orders sealing of food joint

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad, Sanjay Jaju, has ordered the sealing of a take-away food parcel joint in Himayatnagar for running the business without the requisite trade licence from the corporation.

Mr. Jaju, who was on a inspection to Ashoknagar, Himayathnagar, Nallakunta and surrounding areas on Saturday, was taken aback when he noticed that the newly-opened joint, `Kitchen Fresh' was dumping its waste at an unauthorised point.

On making an enquiry he realised that the food outlet was being run illegally and hence, ordered its closure and removal of garbage elsewhere.

All business establishments that run without taking the trade licence were asked to take it soon or face stern action.

Garbage system

The Commissioner appealed to hotels, super markets, theatres and others to join the bulk garbage system and pay the monthly remuneration to the MCH on the amount of garbage generated. Bulk garbage generators were also asked to maintain separate bags for dry and wet waste.

There was a plan to shift all garbage collection points located near electric transformers in consultation with the CPDCL. Mr. Jaju said the work on laying the cement road from Ashoknagar to Himayatnagar's street number nine would be expedited.
