KOCHI: The Council of Principals of Colleges in Kerala has urged the State Government to make amends to its `backward-looking' policies towards aided colleges. In a press release, the Council said that over 250 aided colleges in the State, where over two lakh students were studying, had been facing manifold problems. Meanwhile, the former Judge of the Supreme Court, K.T. Thomas said the opposition raised by some heads of minority-run institutions against the self-financing colleges law is a challenge to the right of common people to pursue higher studies. He was speaking at a workshop organised at the UC College, Aluva, on Saturday.
