The UN announced on July 8 the appointment of Mr. C.V. Narasimhan of India as the Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East (ECAFE). Mr. Narasimhan succeeds Dr. P.S. Lokanathan. Educated at Madras University and Oxford, Mr. Narasimhan has been in charge of the Economic Affairs Department at the Indian Ministry of Finance.
