Felicitation to Kheny criticised

Bidar: Some organisations had criticised the felicitation of Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises Managing Director Ashok Kheny by the Nagarik Samiti here on Saturday.

"He has neither invested nor taken up any charity work in his native district till now. It shows his lack of pride," said Students Federation of India (SFI) leaders. Mr. Kheny has not even visited Bidar in 15 years. He had not donated any money to the 72nd National Kannada Sahitya Sammelana held in Bidar. "Why should he be felicitated?," asked SFI district president Vijay Kumar Sonare in a release. Members of the Kheny Virodhi Kriya Samiti have opposed the felicitation. Bidar Zilla Panchayat member D.K. Sidrama has taken objection to the participation of Congress men in the function to honour Mr. Kheny.
