SINGAPORE: North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Il has ruled out any "concessions" to the U.S., even as Washington continued to press for United Nations sanctions on Pyongyang over its volley of missile tests. An intercontinental ballistic missile formed the nucleus of the stream of devices that North Korea unleashed on July 5 in a major "military exercise." The North Korean state radio and television stations, as monitored in Seoul, on Sunday quoted Mr. Kim as saying "even a small concession would not be made to the sworn enemy, the U.S. imperialistic aggressors." Mr. Kim also pledged to "answer the enemy's retaliation with retaliation and all-out war with an all-out war." The radio and television said in commentaries on Mr. Kim's statements that these were "not empty words" and that he "handed out a massive blow" to the "imperialist forces" by declaring that they should not hope to see him budge from his position.
