PATHANAMTHITTA: District panchyat president S. Santhakumari has said that a total of Rs.163.45 lakhs would be spent on providing improved sanitation facilities in the district. Ms. Santhakumari was inaugurating a meeting in connection with the district-level sanitation programme in Pathanamthitta on Saturday afternoon. She said that better sanitation facility would be provided at schools and Anganwadis in the district as part of the programme. A total of 7,692 toilets would be constructed in different parts of the district. District Collector Ashok Kumar Singh presided over the meeting. State Sanitation Mission programme coordinator C.P. Ram Mohan; district panchayat vice-president A.P. Jayan and district panchayat project director Joseph Abraham also spoke.
