Thanjavur
Special Correspondent
Thanjavur: The Collector, C. Vijayaraj Kumar, on Sunday said that `poramboke wasteland' will be made cultivable before being handing over to people under the land to landless poor scheme.
Caution
In a press release issued here on Sunday, the Collector said that he was given to understand that some people with the aim of bringing bad name to the Government have been misleading people that Government was trying to take the private patta lands left fallow by farmers. This was not true, he said. Only when small and marginal farmers approached the Government for improving the fallow or wasteland, the Government would take such lands and improve them and restore them to the farmers. The Collector appealed to people not to believe any misleading campaign. He also appealed to the Government staff to co-operate fully with the Government.
