Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended in parts of Kondithope, Nanganallur, Valasaravakkam, Manali, Thirumudivakkam, Sowcarpet and Ambattur on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Countdown to CAT

The Hindu Business Line's section for young managers, `The New Manager' published every Monday, features articles for MBA aspirants aiming to get into one of the Indian Institutes of Management.

The articles titled `Countdown to CAT' is written by IIM alumni from T.I.M.E, an education, student training and counselling organisation. Metrowater camp

The CMWSS Board conducted a camp for residents of Bharathi Nagar and Khanu Nagar, Nesappakkam on Sundayto ensure speedy sanction for sewer and water connections. A.L. Radhakrishnan, Area Engineer-VIII presided over it. Several local volunteers participated, in which nearly 150 applications were received.

Narayana Seva Camp

The Hindu Mission Hospital organised the 304th Narayana Seva Camp at Kovilambakkam on Sunday from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

A team of doctors examined 235 patients. Patients were screened for eye, dental, skin, and ENT health besides consultation in gynaecology and paediatrics.

`Quiz on Japan'

ABK-AOTS DOSOKAI, Tamil Nadu centre on Saturday conducted the finals of their annual `Quiz on Japan'. Twenty schools which qualified for the semi-final out of which four teams made it to the finals. G.Kannan and G.Naveen of Sri Sitaram Vidyalaya bagged the first place while K.Akhil and H.Karthik (Kendriya Vidyalaya) came second. C.Praveen Geetth and V.G.P. Pradeep Rajadas (Don Bosco HSS) received the third prize and M.Hariharan and U.M.Sreenivas (A.V.M. Matriculation) came fourth.

Chandi homam

Sri Chandi Homam will be conducted on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m.at Sri Venugopalaswamy temple, 10, 2nd street, Gopalapuram, Chennai -86.The Gopalapuram Hindu Religious Society has invited devotees to come and take part in the pooja.

Freshers' Day

Vailankanni Matriculation HSS, Avadi organised `Freshers' Day' for students. New entrants put up a cultural programme. Dr. Balagurunathan, academic director of St.Peter's Engineering College was the Chief Guest.

Telugu classes

World Telugu Federation president V.L. Indira Dutt inaugurated Telugu classes. Over 65 persons attended. The classes are being held on Saturday (4.30-5.30 p.m.) and Sunday (10-11 a.m.).
